My pick for Big East Player of the Year is DeJaun Blair. It was going to be Hasheem Thabeet, but Thabeet got handled by Blair last night which shifted my choice over to Blair.

Re: Big East POY?
You can't forget about Sam Young, too.
I agree, Blair is a much better player than Young. But he can come up from behind and tackle those votes.
SO I think these are the order....
1. DeJaun Blair
2. Hasheem Thabeet
3. Sam Young
Notables-
Harrangody, McNeal, Williams, Reynolds

When do they vote on the BE POY? Is it at the end of the regular season / before the BE tourney?

Re: Big East POY?
DeJuan Blair should win this award. His 6 offensive rebounds per game is just insane for me to even comprehend. Not only that but he plays great defense and is a dominant scorer and rebounder. Like orange, Thabeet was also a choice of mine until he got handled by Blair the other night. That game was one of the most important games in college basketball this year and Blair showed up while Thabeet never knew what hit him.

Re: Big East POY?
Yeah right now it almost has to be Blair. His rebounding numbers are awesome, especially he has only averaged 26 minutes a game, but you can make an argument that Blair isn't the go to best player on his team. I'm a PITT fan and watch every game and Sam Young is the go to guy on offense. Blair gets his chances but over the course of the season it has been Young scoring when they need a bucket. We will see after PITT and UCONN play again, because whoever wins the battle between Blair and Thabeet will probably get POY.

Re: Big East POY?
My Big East POY standings are...
1. Blair
2. Terrence Williams
3. Hasheem Thabeet
Even though I am a Pitt fan I must admit I am a bit of a homer for Williams. The guy is a stud and a triple double threat every single time he steps on the court. He is very smart with the ball.

Re: Big East POY?
I thought Jonny Flynn would be in contention but he really hasn't played well enough to deserve it. Harangody has put up numbers but the Fighting Irish have been horrible this year.

Re: Big East POY?
yeah it is hard to put Harangody in there when his team is doing way worse than expected.

Re: Big East POY?
I'll have to go with DeJuan Blair right now. Great scorer and rebounder.
