    Your First Team All Americans?

Post by Orange on Fri Feb 20, 2009 3:37 pm

Who would you put on your first team All-American team?

    Hasheem Thabeet
    Blake Griffin
    DeJaun Blair
    Jodie Meeks
    James Harden

It was hard to leave Ty Lawson and Stephen Curry off the list.

I don't know that they will have all 3 of those big guys on it.....I think whoever wins the 2nd Thabeet/Blair battle gets on along with Griffin.

    Thabeet
    Griffin
    Hansborough
    Meeks
    Curry

I hate Hansborough but I can't see him not getting on here if UNC wins the ACC

I would actually have to leave Hardin of the list. He is having an excellent year this season, but Meeks and Curry or more deserving. Meeks field goal percentage is up 200 pts compared to his last two seasons and his 3pt percentage is up 100 pts. That is a remarkable increase and definately should be acknowledged as well as Curry's increase in assists this year. It's hard for me to overlook someone who is the nation's leading scorer and is averaging 6 assists per game. Especially when people were doubting him saying that he would never be anything other than a scorer. He also gets around 3 steals a game and plays some of the best defense in the country.

The other three I do not really have to explain myself for, so heres my list:
    Tyler Hansborough
    Blake Griffin
    DeJuan Blair
    Jodie Meeks
    Stephen Curry

and I think Blair will win the battle but Thabeet gets on here because of the gaudy block numbers...

Yea, you're right the three big men may not all be on there. Whoever proves to be better between the Thabeet vs. Blair round 2 matchup should be on it.
