Post by Orange Sat Feb 14, 2009 9:44 pm

Davidson All-American guard Stephen Curry suffered a sprained left ankle in the Wildcats' 75-60 victory over Furman on Saturday.

Curry will have X-rays on the ankle Sunday, Davidson coach Bob McKillop told ESPN.com while en route back to Charlotte, N.C.

Curry scored 25 points in 29 minutes before suffering the injury with under 10 minutes remaining in the second half. He hobbled off the court to the bench after it happened. Curry was on crutches after the game.

He may miss the game Wednesday at the Citadel. Hopefully he is back for their big game against #15 Butler.

That Butler game is HUGE for Davidson's tourney resume.

I think Davidson will win their conference tourney anyway but for seeding purposes the Butler game is big.

Davidson isn't what they were last year. For one, everyone knows to watch out for them. Also, enough teams have beaten them to show the rest of the country how to.

Your not going to pick Davidson on a first round upset? I still think I might if Curry is healthy. He turned it on to another level last year and I think he is capable of the same thing this year. They just overscheduled in the nonconference but it will have them ready to play come tournament time.

Update - X-rays are negative, he is day-to-day. He will miss a day of practice but is still unknown if he will miss Wednesday's game against the Citadel.

He has to play. He is almost, well 75% of, their team.

He has the best contribution to any team in NCAA.

    Man, gonna miss him Sad

They should do okay without him. They can win a few games, but not like 10, and they should lose a few games, but not like 10. I am hoping he comes back for the Tournament

Curry's a gamer... He will be back for that game on Saturday unless he is in to much pain.
