I find it interesting that when Joe Lunardi is predicting the field for this year's NCAA tourney, he has Gonzaga as a #5 seed traveling to MIAMI to play FLORIDA??? Sad

Do you think the Gator fans would be a bit upset IF Florida was slated as a #5 and had to play a #12 seed Gonzaga in Portland???

Also, don't you think it would be FAIR to look at Gonzaga's BODY OF WORK and look just as close at a narrow loss to #1 seed UConn (a desperation 3 to send the game to OT where 3 Zags foul out) 88-83, as they are focusing on an embarrasssing creamation to Memphis??? If this is NOT the case, why are DUKE and WF given such liberty??? Duke lost worse to Clemson, Wake just as bad to Miami. Both of these losses were to teams ranked much lower (Miami and Clemson) than Memphis.

I all I ask is for fairness! If we are a higher seed, don't send us to the "backyard" of a lower seed. All this does is undermind the entire seeding process. It is equal to teams (arguably)losing on purpose at the end of the NBA season to position for the draft. That is why they went to a "lottery" system instead of strictly by win/loss records.

I know the ACC is ranked higher than the WCC and it is a better "overall" conference, BUT GU has a great record vs. the ACC. Beat UNC last time we played them and burried Maryland THIS year. I know it is a marketing dream to hope that Gonzaga could be "Cinderella" again, but save the slipper story for George Mason or Davidson, it is way past midnight in Spokane and the Zags wear boots now and these boots were made for walking!

I don't think Lunardi does his bracketology keeping area in mind, I think he just works it by the seeds. This is not set in stone and I would believe that the selection commitee would be more fair than Joe Lunardi's mock bracket.

I think the reason Gonzaga isn't getting a very high seed is because they just don't have the quality wins. The have 2 wins over Tennessee, Ok State, Indiana, Maryland, and Washington State. Those wins look good on paper but they are all either bottom level BCS conference teams or on the bubble and for a higher end seed those can't really be your best wins.

O I read your post kinda wrong....and yeah I HATE when they do that to teams. It always happens in the tourney to a higher seed somewhere it seems.

I understand the arguement that our "quality wins" are not as good NOW as when we won the games. BUT, keep in mind the same MSU team that was seeded 2nd, was in the same OSC tourney we won. They got smashed by Maryland. Maryland gets to say, well we have a "quality" win against MSU. But now that Maryland has not had a great year, Gonzaga cannot claim Maryland as a good win??? Siena, who did not win a game in the same tourney, is now considered a "good" win. We beat UT twice and they beat Siena. Yet UT gets credit for a "good" win. You can only control your own schedule, just as losses to Arizona and Utah were looked at as "bad' losses early on, are now in fact vs. RPI 50 or better.

Gonzaga has some nice wins I won't deny that, but none of them are truly great wins that would make them anything more than a 5 seed in the tourney. I agree with you it would be unfair to them if they had to travel to Florida to take on a 12 seeded Florida team.
